Shroudfall’s journey began in early 2023 with a rough outline of rules and boundless ambition. Fast forward to 2025, and we’re preparing to leave the beta phase behind and launch the game’s first edition. This milestone will be marked by the release of a fully overhauled rulebook in the second quarter of this year.
With this update, we are further refining the core rules to make them more intuitive. Don’t worry - there won’t be major changes to Shroudfall’s core gameplay. However, you can expect clearer presentations, updated examples, and some adjustments to make the game flow even smoother.
Additionally, we are fine-tuning all factions for competitive play. Our goal is to reinforce the unique identity of each faction and ensure they can compete on a level playing field while offering diverse strategies for victory. You can expect these updates to roll out as of late February until early March.
Faction Expansions: Wave 1 in Full Swing
Shroudfall currently boasts 34 unit releases, not counting scenarios and terrain pieces, with the Silver Line and the Chosen of the Spirit Tree leading in number of releases. This year, all four factions will receive further releases, with particular focus on the Umbral Veil and Bloodthorne. The goal remains to achieve 15 releases per faction within Wave 1.
Keep an eye out for previews of concept art and models for these factions as they roll out throughout the year. We will start the wave of new releases already with this week, so stay tuned.
Aiming for Essen Spiel 2025
We have our sights set on Essen Spiel 2025, the world’s largest gaming convention. While there are still logistical details to finalize, we’re optimistic about presenting Shroudfall on the global stage. If all goes according to plan, visitors can look forward to demo games, new model reveals, and perhaps even a sneak peek at Shroudfall’s fiery future.
Community Engagement: Tournaments and Showcases
Connecting with the Shroudfall community remains a top priority. We’ll continue hosting tournaments in Vienna throughout the year and are happy to travel to other events to showcase the game. The next one is just coming up in March - you can still sign up here.
